Some glass can genuinely go in the same day: single glazing, standard stock sizes, and toughened panes we hold. Made-to-measure sealed units cannot, because they have to be manufactured — the seal needs time and the gas fill needs the unit assembled properly.

So the honest answer is that it depends on what broke. Tell us the size and specification and we will tell you which category you are in.

Safety glass is not optional

In critical locations — in doors, beside doors, and low-level glazing below 800mm — the replacement must be toughened or laminated to meet Part K. Questions

Can you really do it the same day?

For single glazing and stock toughened sizes, often yes. For a made-to-measure sealed unit, no — and nobody can, because it has to be manufactured.

What glass do I legally have to use in a door?

Toughened or laminated safety glass. Glazing in and beside doors, and below 800mm, is a critical location under Part K.

Is toughened the same as laminated?

No. Toughened breaks into blunt granules so it does not injure you. Laminated holds together on an interlayer, so it also resists entry. Laminated is the security choice.

Can you cut glass to my sizes and let me fit it?

Yes. Send the sizes and specification and it is a supply-only glass order.

Do you replace greenhouse or shed glass?

Yes, and it is usually a same-day job because it is single glazed in standard sizes.
