Lead times, honestly

The standard quote in this industry is eight to twelve weeks. Ours is about one for supply only. That difference is not magic and it is worth explaining, because a claim like that should come with its workings.

Where eight to twelve weeks goes

Very little of it is manufacturing. A door set takes hours to build. The weeks are queue: waiting for a surveyor, waiting for the survey to be signed off, waiting for the order to be released to the factory, waiting for a fitting slot, and then holding the finished product until the fitting team is free. The fitting diary, not the factory, is what sets most lead times in this trade.

What we cut

Supply only removes the survey queue and the fitting queue in one go. You give us the sizes, we build the product and we deliver it. There is no team to schedule because you are not booking one.

What still takes time

We would rather set this out than let you find it at order:

• Non-standard colours. Standard finishes come from coated stock. A special RAL or a dual colour goes through powder coating as a one-off, which adds days.
• Made to measure joinery. Under-stairs units and matched mouldings are built from scratch.
• Specified hardware. Panic hardware, floor springs and unusual cylinders come from suppliers on their own timescales.
• Certified fire door sets in non-standard sizes.

In every one of those cases you get a real date before you pay, not an optimistic one.

Installation is scheduled separately

If you take fitting as well, the product still arrives on the supply lead time — but the fitting date depends on our diary and your area, and that is a separate conversation. We will not quote you a week and then quietly mean something else.
